Waves
meet the shore
Only to go back the way they came
They meet the shore again
Different, yet still the same
The ripples on the surface move
Yet the face of the water is still
Calm the turbulent undercurrent
Through practice and strength of will
Yet the waves persist in their movement
Coming in and rolling back out
They meet the shore again and again
Different particles, the same route
There is simplicity of thought
But complexity of circumstance
A conflicting cast of characters
A subtle but perceptible dance
It is too much for the mind to grasp
The answer is to let go
Emotion and logic see eye to eye
And add momentum to the flow
With momentum comes added force
To the advances upon the wall
The waves have no "mind" but still they know
A time will come, when it will fall
